QP3D offer a great range of terrain products for tabletop gaming and I have a large number of them. Always good quality PLA prints (lightweight and durable) with plenty of detail, decent prices and great customer service too.
The adorably named Thistlewick Cottage has a cute Fairy Tale design without being twee or too whimsical, fitting equally well into a more realistic setting. Could thus be painted very brightly and cheerfully or in darker, murkier tones, depending upon the setting you want to use it in.
My little Half Demon sisters in the images represent a 32mm and a 28mm figure respectively, to show scale.
The building comes in five parts, including the working door. Assembly is totally straightforward. Cyanoacrylate superglue bonds PLA perfectly. A little bit of 1.5mm brass rod is required to allow the door to swing open and closed - note that the door has to swing inward, into the building interior, since it gets stuck on part of a window-frame when going outward (which fact makes a useful 'lock' to stop the door flapping about of its own volition).
Remember not to glue the main upper section onto the main lower section, so that you can access the interior. The cottage has a detailed interior, just big enough to get a few figures on 25mm bases within plus one or two bits of small furniture. A couple of pegs and slots keep the upper part in place in-game.
There is also a little raised area on the upper part of the building where a figure can stand on watch - or just throw buckets of cold water over the neighbours' cat or whatever...
Obviously, in these images, I haven't yet primed let alone painted the model. Given that the upper and lower parts remain separate to access the interior, all necessary assembly can be done prior to painting. Pretty much any good acrylic paints should do the job. (I use mostly Vallejo and Reaper paints myself and they work excellently) Vallejo surface primers are brilliant on PLA.
As with all the models I've had from QP3D, this is a very robust print, the detail clear and sharp. No clean-up is required save removal of the inevitable occasional stray filament.
Always great service from QP3D in all respects, a seller who cares about their products and their customers, friendly communication, fast fulfilment and delivery of orders, quality models, good value prices. Always reliable. Recommended.
